Directions:
- Cut off the string on
the top of the gingerbread people.
- Mix the burnt umber
and ivory Ceramcoat paint until a light gingerbread color is achieved.
Paint both sides and edges of the gingerbread people. Allow to dry.
- With the Scribbles
paint, decorate the gingerbread figures by drawing on clothes.
create some boys and some girls. Wherever there are no clothes,
outline the edges with small white dashes then fill in between the
white dashes with red dashes to create a candy cane look.
- Draw mouths and noses
with shiny black Scribbles. Glue wiggle eyes on all figures except
the smallest. On the smallest, draw the eyes with black Scribbles.
Allow to dry.
- Decorate the backs of
the gingerbread people the same as the front. Allow to dry
completely.
- Lay the gingerbread
people flat and mark where the hands and feet touch. Using an awl,
or a large yarn needle and a hammer, on a padded surface, punch
holes through the gingerbread people at your marks. Tie the
gingerbread people together loosely with the jute cord. Once you
have tied the gingerbread people together at the hands and feet,
test to see if they will stand in a zigzag shape. You may have to
loosen or tighten the ties. Once the ties are adjusted, secure with
hot glue.
- Spray one side of the
gingerbread people with sealant and immediately sprinkle with ultra
fine glitter. Spray again to adhere the glitter. Allow to dry and
repeat on the other side.
