|
Components: |
- 1 1/2 yards of 1/4" white double face
satin ribbon
- 1 1/2 yards of 1/8" pink double face satin
ribbon
- Small white bonnet basket
- 6 stems of lily/hydrangea
- 1 rosebud bush
- 1/2 yard pearl beads
|
- 1 package of pink tulle circles
- Spanish moss
- Green floral tape
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Wire cutters
- Scissors
|
Directions:
- Glue Spanish moss around the edge of the
basket. This will help hold the flowers in place when you glue them
to the basket.
- Make a bow out of the 1/4" double face
satin ribbon. Secure the bow with a piece of 1/8" double-faced
satin ribbon. Next, make a bow with the 1/8" ribbon and secure
it the same way. Tie the 1/8" ribbon bow in to the center of
the 1/4" ribbon bow. Tie the bow onto the handle of the basket.
- Take the flower picks and cut apart all the
flowers and greens. (You should have 3 flowers, 1 filler flower,
greens, and corkscrew willow) Some flower stems you will want to
leave long, others you will want to cut short. Cutting the flowers
at different lengths will give depth and height to the arrangement.
- Take 2 lilies and glue them by handle and the
bow. You will have to hold the flowers in place for a few seconds
while the glue cools and sets.
- Glue 2 lilies by the handle and the bow. Glue 2
more lilies by the other handle. Take 1 lily and space it between
the sets of lilies and glue into place. Take the last lily and glue
directly across from the one you just glued. See photo for
placement.
- Take the hydrangea flowers and glue them in
between the lilies and by the handles. Take the last flowers and
glue them in between the hydrangea flowers and the lilies.
- Glue the filler flowers into the empty spaces
around the basket.
- Take the rosebud bush and cut it apart. Take
the greens off the stem and any filler if there is any. Set the
greens aside. Glue the rosebuds randomly around the basket to fill
in.
- Take the greens and glue them into any empty
spaces. Glue the ivy so that it hangs down in front and on the
sides. Take the rosebud leaves and any remaining greens and glue
them to the inside of the basket.
- Take a tulle circle and fold in half. Hold the
folded edge. Twist and make a puff. Tape the end that you are
holding. Cut it short and glue randomly in between the flowers. The
more tulle you use the fuller it will look.
- Randomly glue the willow corkscrews around the
basket at different heights. You can take the willow and curl it
around your finger to curl it. Wind a couple of pieces around the
handle. Glue the ends down to secure.
- Cut the pearl bead strand into several pieces
at different lengths. Tape the pieces together with floral tape. Now
glue the beads so that they hang in front of the bow.
This wedding basket can be used to hold
programs or wedding bubbles at the ceremony; wedding cards at a
small reception, or a smaller version can be made for a flower girl
to carry.
