Daisy Candles

Materials:

Supplies:

  • 2" x 2.5" Mini Pillar Candle by candle lite (color of your choice)
  • Graphite paper
  • #6 Flat Brush
  • #3 Round Brush
  • Rubbing Alcohol

Decoart Americana Acrylic Paints:

  • Buttermilk
  • Hauser Dark Green
  • Cadmium Yellow
  • Burnt Umber
  • Mauve  (may be used in place of Buttermilk for the daisy petals on white or ivory candle)
Instructions:
  1. Mix equal parts of medium with acrylic paint
  2. Clean candle with household rubbing alcohol.
  3. Wipe dry.
  4. Cut out around the outside of pattern and place on top of the graphite paper. Trace the pattern onto the candle.
Paint as follow:

Leaves and stems...

Hauser Dark Green- 2 coats (let dry between coats)
With Flat Brush, Lightly Highlight Leaves and Stems with Buttermilk- If necessary wipe off most of the paint onto a paper towel to give it a dry brushed look.

Daisy Petals...

Buttermilk or Mauve- Using the round brush start at the outside edge of the petal and pull in toward the center.

Daisy Centers...

Bottom half of center- Tap Burnt Umber with round brush.

Top half of center- Tap on Cadmium Yellow with roung brush and tap between the colors so there are no harsh lines.

Top of center- Tap on tiny dots with Buttermilk (just enough to highlight)
